Brightshores is a regional health system that operates six hospitals in one of the largest geographic regions in Ontario. As a regional centre, we provide specialized care for cancer, stroke, kidney disease, and more, ensuring patients receive the expert treatment they need close to home. About the Five Foundations
In order to provide quality health care when it matters most, Brightshores Health System relies on the generosity of members in the communities being served by these Five Foundations;
Across the six hospital sites (Lions Head, Wiarton, Markdale, Meaford, Southampton and Owen Sound), Brightshores Health System requires approximately $20 Million annually to keep its facilities and equipment up to date. Although the Government will pay for the operation of the equipment, the cost of purchasing any equipment/capital is the responsibility of the communities. Each Foundation pays for equipment and upgrades at its local hospital, and also contributes to larger, regional services used by residents across Grey and Bruce counties. Each Foundation recognizes the importance of supporting our regional hospital in order to keep specialized care, advanced diagnostics, stroke centre, cancer care, etc. close to home.
